Pyramid Lake:

Water Temp. 42 degrees

The winter months bring colder conditions to the Reno area and with it the time of year to catch a monster trout at Pyramid Lake.  Fish have been in Close with the cold weather. Fishing has been best with stormy days or windy days! Fishing in 10ft of water or less. This is also the time of year when the afternoon and evening bite is the best. Most anglers continue to get to the lake early and get worn out from casting all day and leave before the fishing gets good. Your best right now is to get to the lake later in the morning or even early afternoon and stay until dark.

Indo: Fishing a black balance leech with a Red Wine Midge or a red  Maholo nymph underneath have been our top producers.

Stripping: strip bite been really good! Running a white/chartreuse beetle with a bloody Mary or Midnight Cowboy behind it has been the ticket! Don’t forget the pyramid lift, with temps this cold fish can wait util the last second to eat!
