We have had a pretty good start to the winter fishing on Pyramid. The numbers of fish being caught are low but there are some nice sized fish being caught. The lake has been going through some changes over the last few years due to water levels and the fish stocking program. It appears the lake is turning into a more trophy fish fishery with way less numbers. The weather is still playing a part in the fishing at the lake with cloudy choppy days being the best. Water temps are approaching the winter lows and there are just not a lot of fish around the shoreline. Maholo Nymphs in Red and Black are working well as are Maholo Midges in Wine and Brown. Stripping Midnight Cowboys and White Ghost Tadpoles are also catching fish. The random big fish are being caught all day and there really is not a certain time to target. Just get out there and fish. The same goes for location. There are fish being caught just about anywhere. Look for this pattern to hold true until at least med February.
